About the Band

The FM Underground, southeastern NC’s premier party band, was established in 2016 by members of several different Wilmington, NC based bands who wanted to pursue a project playing their favorite songs from the 70’s to present. With a focus on songs that everyone knows, but that you don’t usually hear live, The FM Underground plays a variety of genres, dedicating great skill and musicianship to each song.

Kelly McLaurin

Lead Vocals

Native to southern North Carolina, Kelly is our dynamic lead vocalist.  Formally trained, Kelly has sung for the Country Roads band, Two Cents Worth, and regularly is invited to perform the National Anthem at local sporting events.  Don’t let that sweet southern drawl fool you, though, she can belt some blues, jazz, and rock with the best of them!

Mark Ferrer - Keyboards/Vocals

Mark Ferrer

Keyboards/Vocals

Originally from Upstate New York (Albany), Mark expertly handles the keyboards and vocals.  He plays like (and, has been told on more than one occasion, resembles) Billy Joel on speed and has opened up for such national acts as Kansas, ELO, Doobies, Chicago and David Crosby/Graham Nash.

Lee Holliday - Guitar/Vocals

Born and raised in Wilmington, NC, Lee has been a local to the music scene for over 30 years. With influences laced with Van Halen, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page, Lee has played in many classic rock bands over that time.  He is an inspired practitioner with attention to detail, which allows him to interpret all styles of music.  Lee can play anything from Charlie Daniels to Alice in Chains to Megadeath with style, ease, and a blues soulful vibe.
